Atharva Taide is a 21-year-old Indian cricketer who plays for Vidarbha in the Indian domestic circuit. The southpaw’s First Class and List A debut came in the year 2018. In a year’s time, he was handed his T20I debut. Taide has recently been bought by the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the mega-auctions of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The left-handed opener was Vidarbha’s top run-scorer in the 2021-22 season of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). He piled up 270 runs in 7 matches at an impressive average of 54. Overall, the Akola-born cricketer was the 8th highest run-getter in the tournament. Taide has featured in just five First-Class matches in which he has managed to score over 240 runs at a decent average of over 40. The Vidharbha cricketer has featured in 19 List A and 20 T20 domestic matches and averages over 39 and 29 respectively. The southpaw has an aggressive approach to his batting and can also chip in with a few overs if needed. The top-order prospect seems to be a great future prospect.
