Shashank Singh is a product of the league cricket system in Mumbai. A clean striker of the ball, Shashank can also bowl utility off breaks and is a good fielder too. All of this makes him a good package for white-ball cricket and the few glimpses of him in List A cricket and IPL have shown his prowess. Shashank’s IPL journey till now can be termed as one which has required lots of persistence and determination. Shashank was picked up by Delhi Daredevils in 2017. After that, he moved to Rajasthan Royals and stayed with them from 2019-21. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2022 season before finally settling down at Punjab Kings. He got only few opportunities before moving to PBKS but his fate has changed for the good. Shashank Singh had left Punjab Kings in a dilemma at the auction, but once he found his mojo in IPL 2024, all the doubts about his selection was a bygone story. Shashank emerged as their highest run-getter, scoring 354 runs in 14 matches, at a brilliant strike rate of 164.65. He caught attention after playing a blazing 29-ball 61-run knock for Punjab Kings against Gujarat Titans. He played a few outstanding cameos down the order as well. Shashank’s unbeaten 28-ball 68 against KKR revealed his finishing skills as he enabled PBKS to chase down the highest-ever T20 target of 262. Following his brilliant performance, Shashank has been retained by PBKS for IPL 2025.
