Shadman Islam is a young talent who garnered some attention after having scored runs for Bangladesh A side. Dhaka Dynamites spotted him and drafted for in their squad for the BPL 2017. A compact left-hander who opens the batting, Shadman has been a consistent rungetter in First-class cricket since his debut in 2014. The sheer weight of his performances earned the left-hander a Test debut during the home series against West Indies in late 2018. With a solid half-century in his debut innings, he created an impression and also looked assured during the overseas tour of New Zealand that came immediately after. Shadman has got quite a few starts in his international career thus far but the next stage for him will be to capitalize on those. In terms of potential, he has it in him to be long-serving red-ball opener for Bangladesh. By Hariprasad Sadanandan
