Mohammad Salman is a wicket-keeper batsman who has worked hard at the domestic circuit for over 10 years before being noticed by the Pakistan selectors. Having made his debut in in the 1999/2000 season, Salman was hailed by Rashid Latif, former Pakistan wicket-keeper, for having the best wicket-keeping technique in the country.Salman's best year was in 2005 when he snapped up 42 dismissals. This helped him gain a place in the Pakistan A team for the tour of Australia in 2006. He continued to perform consistently at first-class level. In the 2010-11 season, Salman snapped up 30 catches in 11 matches and he averaged over 35 with the bat while playing for Faisalabad. He was also the leading wicket-keeper in the T20 format for his team.Kamran Akmal's poor form allowed Salman to break into the team for the West Indies tour in April-May 2011 and made his debut as the first choice keeper in all three formats on that tour. He played only 2 Tests and a handful of ODIs before being dropped for the Akmal brothers, who have always been the first choice behind the stumps.Salman also plays for the Faisalabad Wolves in the Domestic T20 League. The team won the competition in 2012/13 which allowed them to take part in the Champions League 2013. However, they failed to qualify to the main tournament.BySiddharth VishwanathanAs of April 2014
