A left-handed swing bowler, Luke Wood, has the ability to swing the ball back into the right-hander, an ability that makes him a dangerous customer to face. Wood came through the age-group system of Nottinghamshire and featured in the Under-17 set-up before being called for the England U-19 squad.Having worked his way through the ranks, Wood made his first-class debut during the 2014 season, against Sussex at Trent Bridge. It was however in 2015 that he grew as a bowler, finishing the season with 30 wickets and gaining a call-up to the ECB bowling camp in South Africa. While his bowling has made strides, Wood is no mean batsman either. A typical tailender, he can hit the ball a long way and one such innings brought him his maiden first-class hundred, off just 105 balls, against Sussex.
