Iftikhar Ahmed born in Peshawar, Pakistan is a middle-order batsman and a more than handy offie. He has represented Pakistan in every format and was a part of the squad which drew the Test series 2-2 against England in England in 2016. However, it was rather an forgettable debut in a memorable game for Pakistan as they levelled the series in the final Test at Oval. Prior to that he debuted in the T20Is and ODIs in 2016 and 2015 respectively. Again, failures in those handful of games meant that he was sidelined. But his strong performances at the domestic level have always kept him in reckoning of a national call-up. He has been a part of Pakistan's limited-over setup and with his ability to hit big sixes, he can be a match-winner on a given day. He has played across varios T20 leagues and is considered to be a dangerous batter by many. His maiden international century came against Nepal during Asia Cup 2023 where Iftikhar smashed 109 runs off 71 balls. Pakistan won that particular game by a massive margin of 238 runs. Following that, the middle order batter has chipped in with handy contributions, but he needs to be more consistent in order to cement a place in Pakistan's squad.
