New Zealand, Central Districts/Central Stags, New Zealand A, New Zealand XI
The cousin of Kane Williamson, Cleaver like the New Zealand batsman was part of an Under 19 World Cup. He was in the squad for the 2010 edition. But unlike Williamson, Cleaver is a hard-hitting batsman and a wicket-keeper - making his debut as a teenager in 2011. The right-hander came through Central Districts' academy and played his maiden first class game in 2011. The following year he made his List A debut and a couple of years later he was playing all three formats for the Stags. By being aggressive Cleaver has suffered with inconsistency. He averages around 40 in the four-day format, while he is yet to reach the 1000-run mark in List A. There have been centuries in both forms, but they have been far and few. The strike rate is the most impressive thing in Cleaver's numbers, more than 90 in 50-over cricket and above 125 in T20.
