A handy all-rounder from Paarl in South Africa, Bjorn Fortuin made his first-class debut in 2013. The right handed batsman didn't have an ideal debut as he was dismissed for a duck in his debut innings. He wasn't able to bag any wickets on debut either but since then he has made a number of improvements in his technique and scored runs as a result of his hard work and determination. Fortuin's career best figures came against Knights in October 2017 as the left-arm spinner claimed 6 for 78 to bundle out the opposition. As a courtesy of his admirable spell, the Lions managed to gain a healthy lead of 203 runs. The end result of the match was a draw but the left-arm spinner bagged 7 wickets altogether. He was also a part of the South Africa A side that toured India in July 2017 and it was due to his all-rounder abilities that the all-rounder got to be a part of the squad.
