Chaminda Vaas is arguably one of the greatest Sri Lankan fast bowlers of all-time. Since his retirement, Sri Lanka failed to produce a left-arm-fast bowler who can be consistent at the higher level of the game. As many experts affirm, Binura Fernando seems to be the answer Sri Lanka has been eagerly waiting for. The 6 foot 6 inch-lad comes from the capital of Sri Lanka and is well known for his ability to extract extra bounce on any wicket. Adding to his ability to swing both ways, change of pace, slow-bouncers and yorkers are what make him a bowler to reckon with. He had the great honour of sharing the dressing room with the likes of Mahela Jayawardene, Kumara Sangakkara, Angelo Mathews and Rangana Herath. He was part of the Sri Lankan squad that featured for Jayawardene's farewell Test. His impressive show came at the Under 19 World Cup in 2014 which helped him earn him a spot in the Test series against Pakistan in 2014. He, however, is yet to make his debut in Tests and ODIs. Binura Fernando's long-time wish was finally fulfilled when he got an offer to represent his country in the shortest version of the game. He made his T20I debut against Pakistan in 2015 and had managed 3 wickets in the 2-game T20I series. All-time favorite batsman - Mahela Jayawardene. All-time favorite bowler - Chaminda Vaas. Fast-bowling role model - Wasim Akram. By Raju Peethala
