He represented Cape Cobras in that tournament. He is capable of generating some serious pace and has reaped rich rewards playing for Cape Cobras and the Western Province team. He had a superb 2012/13 first class season, where he claimed 35 wickets in 7 matches and that boosted his chances of getting selected for the South African A team. His performance in the Ram Slam tournament in 2013/14 earned him an IPL contract, where he was snapped up by Kings XI Punjab for a price of Rs 1.8 crore. Hendricks was picked for the 2014 World T20 in Bangladesh. After missing out the first two games, he was drafted in place of Morne Morkel.
