Pak-Panthers, Sialkot
Amad Butt is a tall right arm fast bowler from Sialkot who generates good pace and bounce. He was involved in a crucial stand with Zafar Gohar during the Under - 19 World Cup semi-final in 2014. Gohar and Butt were part of the 63-run eighth-wicket stand which clinched the game for Pakistan against England.Although Pakistan lost poorly to South Africa in the finals, Amad Butt remained 37 unbeaten, which was also the team's highest score. His ability to bat towards the end of an innings makes him a valuable player given that his bowling skills are supreme. It's a combination that any side would want in these days where lower order contributions are imperative.Butt's talent was recognized immediately as he debuted in First-class cricket in 2015 while his List A career also kickstarted a few months later. He had a good first season in red-ball cricket, grabbing 27 wickets at a healthy average of 21 and a fine strike-rate of 37. In contrast, he hasn't been as effective in the shorter forms. Butt does pick wickets with the white ball as well but the economy is on the higher side, particularly in T20s. However, the progress is surely there and tournaments like the PSL will surely help him to make his game more flexible.By Hariprasad Sadanandan
